Why is this important?

Exposure to extreme heat can result in a wide range of physiological impacts on humans including but not limited to heat stroke, heat exhaustion, heat cramps, or heat rashes. Exposure to excessive heat can also exacerbate current health conditions and result in premature death or disability.  The negative health impacts are predictable and largely preventable with appropriate public health action.
